Every product received the same brief: build an investor-ready deck for a B2B procurement platform, from a fixed set of company facts, targeting roughly twelve slides. No prompt was rewritten to suit a particular tool's syntax. We kept the first output a competent user would accept rather than the best of several runs, then exported to PowerPoint and opened the file to see what survived.

The honest version of this category is that the overall ranking matters less than one question: what has to happen to the deck after the AI finishes with it. Start there.
For a routine internal or business deck, the better tools now get close enough that the remaining work is editing rather than building. For a high-stakes external deck — an investor pitch, a board paper — every tool here still produces a strong draft rather than a finished artefact. Budget time for a pass over the numbers and the narrative.
It matters whenever somebody other than you has to change the deck, and whenever the deck has to survive being emailed into an organisation that runs on PowerPoint. If your decks only ever live as links, the export axis is close to irrelevant and you should weight design and speed instead.
Treat every figure a model produced as unverified until you check it against your source. Tools that ground a deck in documents you supply are meaningfully safer than tools that write from the prompt alone, but none of them removes the obligation to check.
